For quicker response times in case of an accident

The Mercedes-Benz emergency call system significantly cuts the time between an accident and the arrival of the emergency services. This is made possible if your vehicle in equipped with the eCall codes 347, 348, 350, 351 or EY5, which automatically relays the call to the Mercedes-Benz emergency response centre. The vehicle also establishes a voice connection with the Mercedes-Benz emergency response center. The emergency call can be made manually via the SOS button or an address book entry, as well as automatically through the airbag or the belt tensioner.

This is how the Mercedes-Benz emergency call system works

Once the emergency call is made, the Mercedes-Benz emergency response centre checks whether help is needed at the scene of the accident. -in the case of a serious accident , details such as GPS position, direction of travel, time of the emergency call and the preferred language, set in the Head Unit will be forwarded to the emergency centre. This means that medical teams, rescue teams or towing vehicles from a Mercedes-Benz service centre can be dispatched as quickly as possible.
